Volvo Trucks - Even For Drivers on a Budget

Marilee McCormack asked:

In fact, Volvo is the world’s second largest producer of heavy-duty trucks with models that seem to please truckers in almost every realm of the transportation industry.

With core values of safety, environment, quality, and environment, the company offers solutions for a variety of transportation needs. But from the new hybrid waste truck that is currently undergoing market testing to the new 2009 long-haul trucks that feature comfortable driver living space as well as impressive power, new Volvo trucks can cost well over $100,000. For drivers on a budget, though, a solution to the problem of purchasing Volvo trucks exists-used trucks.

Used Volvo trucks come equipped with all of the strength and savvy of new Volvo vehicles, offering powerful choices from the 1990s and early 2000s. Some of these trucks, like the 1993 FH line, revolutionized the industry and continue to influence new models today. Truckers who want the safety, environmental concern, and quality of a Volvo can opt to purchase one of these used vehicles.

Of course, purchasing a used Volvo isn’t as easy as signing a piece of paper. Whether you’re getting a loan or paying cash, you’re probably worried that what you’ll end up with is a big lemon. While no one can guarantee that the product you’ll receive is not a dud, independent agencies that list and sell vehicles will go a long way to help you feel secure in your choice. By checking out the selection of Volvos available on these sights, you’ll be able to bargain shop and compare prices, in addition to researching financing options and other special deals.

With each year, researchers at Volvo make some impressive strides. New hybrid vehicles that boast environmental awareness are just one of those strides. While the new Volvos of tomorrow might seem more attractive than the Volvos of yesterday, used Volvos are a sturdy and inexpensive answer for truckers who want a smooth ride for a small cost.

Top Five Trucks For Gas Mileage

Rich Marsiglia asked:

A few years ago, people would scoff at you if you told them that you were looking for trucks with the best gas mileage. But, as truck sales began to slip downwards, manufacturers started giving due importance to this factor. Today, there has been a dramatic change in the scenario.

The rising costs of gas, has propelled potential truck buyers to go for trucks that can meet their gas mileage demands. Truck makers have now taken firm steps to improve the fuel economy of their makes at all levels.

Usually the ranking of the top five trucks based on gas mileage is founded on a combination factors. The prime parameters are the fuel economy rating given by EPA, the transmission of the vehicle, and its inherent popularity amongst car buyers. The formula for calculation for most gas mileage rankings is a combination of the city mpg rating, which forms 55 percent of criterion, and the highway mpg rating that completes the remaining criteria.

It is really very difficult to bring forth a list that enumerates the top 5 trucks on the basis of fuel efficiency. Not one, not two, but three trucks hold the first rank. This spot is shared by the 2006 Ford Ranger one of the premier trucks that are out in the market today. Ford has made it a point to come out with trucks that offer the best gas mileage. This is why most of their newer models find a place on the best gas mileage list year after year.

However, all the trucks, which feature in the list, have the same engine; the 2006 Ford Ranger is a supremely refined version of its older model that came out in 2005. It has the better off-road capability then other trucks in the rankings and is one of the best alternatives in your search for a truck giving you the best gas mileage.

The completely redesigned 2006 Toyota Tacoma comes next in the list. The Toyota Tacoma is one of the roomier trucks available in the market and its looks are an epitome of sophistication. The only disadvantage of the 2006 Toyota Tacoma is its price tag. It is more expensive then the others.

If you are looking for something on the cheaper side then the 2006 Mazda B-series is the truck that you must go for. A fuel-efficient truck delivers on its promise. It is called in some circles as the bargain pickup truck. Don’t expect styling and comfort but you do get an unashamed practicality with this vehicle.

The Toyota Tundra is the next in line of your picks. It comes with 4.0 liter V6 engine that is geared to give you competitive gas mileage. The truck gives you a mileage of 20 /mpg on the highway and a 16/mpg when you drive in the city.

The Chevrolet Silverado 1500 comes a close fifth in the rankings. It comes with a mild hybrid engine that enables the electric motor to keep the vehicles running when idle so the gas engine can be shut off.

Description: When looking for trucks with great gas mileage, the list can be pretty large. You will have a wide variety to choose from. Select the one that best suits your requirement. This article lists out the top five!

2008 Big Trucks and Transport

Michael Rad asked:

A truck is a great invention that has made it possible to transport diverse goods from one place to another. Ever since 1769, the trucks technology and design has evolved a lot and today, the trucks made by manufacturers such as Mercedes, Man, Iveco etc, are simply amazing. The word truck has its origins in the Greek language, the word ‘trochos’ designating wheels. The development of the truck as we know them today has gone through many stages starting from the steam powered fardier to the semi trailer and so on.

Today the trucks are manufactured by many brand names such as PACCAR (the DAF trucks), Man, Scania, , Iveco (made by the Fiat Group), Nissan Diesel, Renault, Sisu Auto, Mitsubishi, Mahindra and Mahindra, Chevrolet, Volkswagen and others. The top two truck manufacturers are Daimler Chrysler and Volvo. The Daimler Chrysler group sells trucks under the name of Mercedes Benz. They boast with trucks such as The current range consists of Mercedes Benz Atego, which is a light truck, the Axor, which is a mid sized truck in rigid and articulated, the Actros - a heavy duty rigid and premium articulated, the Econic, which is a low floor version of the Axor for diverse specific applications, and last but not least the Unimog, which is dedicated for special purpose applications and transport across extreme terrain.

The Mercedes Benz Unimog is an amazing truck, funny looking, having a history of over 50 years. The most recent line of Unimog trucks is the UGN series. These vehicles employ the BlueTech technology, and the U20 is the latest model, being launched at the end of 2007. The U20 has a cab over design, which is a premiere in this area. This model lacks the front hood that was characteristic for the Unimogs. This new model weighs around 7 or 8 tons and has a shortened wheelbase to 2,700 mm.

The Volvo trucks are quality Swedish vehicles that are available since 1927. the most recent models of Volvos are the Volvo FL, the Volvo FE, the Volvo FM, the Volvo 80th Anniversary FH16, the NH, the VHD, the VN, the VT 880 and the VM. The Volvo FH is a truck for heavy use and can be acquired in two versions: either the low roof or at two different height extended roof. The latest FH is the FH12, which has a cool design; the 2006 edition of the FH is the Volvo FH which has a 13 liter engine and having engine timings gears controlled from the back of the crankshaft flywheel side. All in all, trucks today are for transportation but they also present a design that will make you turn your head and they incorporate great technology and features that have surpassed greatly the very first models of trucks back in the 1800s.

Box Trucks - the Rubik’s Cube of Transportation

Marilee McCormack asked:

Box trucks are also referred to by many people around the world as cube trucks or box vans. They are simply trucks with cube-shaped cargo areas. These trucks typically range from 14 feet to 24 feet in length, although there are smaller versions available in many areas of the world. The door is typically designed like a garage door, in that it rolls up for access to the cargo area. On some trucks however, the cargo area is accessed from the cabin. Trucks such as UPS delivery trucks come to mind when considering this access route.

Ford and Chevrolet/GMC are the most commonly known manufacturers of box trucks in the United States. These trucks are used widely to transport furniture and other appliances. Many home improvement stores such as Lowes and Home Depot use these types of trucks for delivering larger appliance and furniture products to their customers after purchase. Moving companies such as U-Haul also provide box trucks for use by customers and companies which provide moving services, use them very commonly.

If you are planning to establish a moving business, delivery business or any other service that requires the use of a box truck, you can find many for sale online at more than reasonable prices. Used versions of these trucks are very common and can be very affordable if you know the proper places to look. Once you have found a dealer that offers used versions, you can then choose the truck that fits your exact needs.

What many people do not realize is that box trucks, along with other designs and styles of commercial vehicles, can be found and purchased online. There are websites online that are dedicated to finding you the exact truck that you need. Whether you are already in a business or are looking to begin a new business, saving money should be a major concern. At the rate that prices on everything in the nation are rising, having the ability to save money in any aspect, should be a major factor in your business.

When you are ready to purchase your truck, head online and check out the thousands of styles, designs and sizes of trucks that are available. If saving money, while still ensuring quality, is a concern for your business, there is no better way to satisfy all your needs than by searching for your new truck online.

Repossessed Mobile Homes - A Guide to Finding Mobile Homes in Foreclosure

Milt Wapner asked:

Sadly not everyone who buys a mobile home can afford it. When they figure out how much they can afford in monthly home payments, they may forget to calculate in lot fees, utilities, taxes and the like. Plus, since many mobile home buyers arrange for their financing through the mobile home manufacturer rather than through a bank - most mobile homes are financed via personal property loans, not traditional real estate mortgages - people are more likely to have been sold a home they cannot afford. Not only that, but such loans do not have foreclosure protection and the mobile home can be repossessed, just like a car, without notice or going through foreclosure proceedings.

This means that there are many quality mobile homes available. Mobile homes - or manufactured homes, as they are called today - are not like our parents’ mobile homes. Cathedral ceilings, hot tubs, fireplaces and the like are often found in today’s manufactured homes. Plus mobile homes of 1,800 to 2.000 square feet or more are not uncommon.

For someone looking to get a good deal, a newer used or repossessed mobile home can be quite a bargain. As mobile homes, particularly those in trailer parks tend to depreciate in value, rather than increase like a traditional built home would, you can find a great home at a bargain price.

Many mobile homes in foreclosure can be found in trailer parkers. You can ask park management if they are aware of any homes in foreclosure. Most park owners are well aware of what is going on in their parks.

HUD is another source of mobile home foreclosures since many first-time mobile home buyers qualify for FHA loans. HUD sells these foreclosed properties to recover the loss on the foreclosure claim. You can start your search on the HUD Homes webpage.

The VA (Veterans Administration) is another source for foreclosed mobile homes as is Fannie Mae. Like HUD, the VA and Fannie Mae help people with financing mobile homes and, as a result, handle foreclosures for people who have defaulted on their loans.

CECT P168 Mobile Phone User’s Manuals and Set Up Instructions For Specific Networks and Carriers

Rae Edwards asked:

I’ve had the CECT P168 (aka iClone) since it first came out. I often evaluate and write about Chinese import mobile phones and this one is still among my favorites. Many consumers seem to agree with me too because this phone is now so popular that it’s become almost main stream.

But, not matter how commonplace the P168 phone becomes, I find that I am almost always questioned by people who see me using it. They want to know how hard it is to set it up, how user friendly it is, or if the instructions are in Chinese. The answer is it’s not very hard for most people right out of the box, but if you need help, it’s widely available. Instructions are also available in almost every language.

There are a couple of companies who have either written e-books or compiled software indicating how to use, set up, and sync the CECT P168 for your specific carrier. For example, there are now guides specifically for: AT&T, T-Mobile, Cingular, Roger’s Wireless, Vodafone, CTI, Orange, O2, and Moviestar, to name only a few. I find that typically, if someone is going to have a problem, it’s usually with the MMS. These guides will help you set this up in minutes. (The 168 is tri band and works with most carriers with no installation software needed. However, make sure your GSM carrier users either the 900, 1800, or 1900 Mhz band.)

Additionally, the guides come in just about any language you can imagine, including English, French, Italian, Spanish and German, for starters. These guides which are usually either in PDF (e book), CD rom, or in printed format, and usually only run between $5-$10.

The replica mobile is now so widely available that companies are beginning to generate accessories for it. You can easily get replacement batteries, sim cards, memory cards, cases / skins, Bluetooth headsets, and chargers for this phone, usually for well under $10.

So, there is no need to think that you can’t figure out or buy accessories for the iClone. As I’m sure you know, when a product is popular, a whole industry is going to spring up around it, which is exactly what has happened. From my own experience, this is a very easy phone to own and use.

Marilee McCormack asked:

Cab and chassis trucks are a popularly chosen group. For those who are just beginning in the trucking industry, understanding the different types and models of trucks and trailers is highly important. You can find much information via the internet about the different types of trucks that you may need for your new business venture.

Generally speaking, a cab and chassis truck simply refers to a skeleton-like truck. The cab is intact but the chassis is simply a rail that allows you to have any type of equipment installed. The more popular types of these trucks are used for the assembling of box trucks or emergency vehicles such as ambulances. The chassis is fitted with the necessary aftermarket equipment which allows it to be used for whatever purpose is needed. There are many aftermarket equipment suppliers available for you to order your package to complete your commercialized truck in the style or design that you want. Whether you want a box truck design or something completely innovative, these suppliers can help you to determine exactly what you need for your business.

Many of these types of trucks are purchased used, which saves money and allows for the new owner to turn the truck into whatever type of vehicle that they need. Ambulance services, although they typically purchase their vehicles new, have been known to find and buy used versions of these types of trucks saving the organization thousands of dollars when they need to add additional ambulance carriers to their fleet.

If you are in the market for cab and chassis trucks, you can begin your search online. There are many places in which you can find these trucks. Typically, when you purchase a truck from an online site you are given many photos in order to gauge the style, design and overall condition of the used vehicle. These photographs will help you to determine whether or not the truck is the right size and in the condition that you desire. There are literally thousands of them available at prices that may astound you. If you have priced new trucks then you already know how expensive they can be. Purchasing used versions gives you the savings that you may need to begin a new business on the right foot, while still giving you the truck that you need for your new business purposes.
